THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Devaswom Board President K Anantha Gopan said that 400 sovereign of gold was received in Sabarimala during this pilgrimage season. The temple also received Rs 361 crores in revenue, excluding foreign currency. Steps are in progress to quantify foreign currency. After quantifying the gold, it has been kept in the strong room of the Devaswom Board in Aranmula. The campaign that there was a delay and problem in bringing the gold to the strong room is baseless.

"The counting of coins which started from January 15 after the Makarvilakku ended on February 25th. Then when the monthly pujas started, there was a difference of seven days in moving the gold to the strong room. When this kind of news spread, a report was sought from the Devaswom Commissioner and subgroup officer. On examining the report, there was no lapse on officials' part", Anantha Gopan said.
