KASARGOD: Samastha has demanded that the government grant three days of official holiday for both Eid festivals. The organisation said the government should declare at least three days of leave for each of the two Eids. The demand was raised through a resolution at its centenary conference.

Samastha also urged the government to schedule examinations in a way that does not interfere with Friday (Jumu’ah) prayers. It said conducting exams and classes during Jumu’ah time is unfair to students and teachers who are believers.

The organisation further stated that community considerations should be taken into account while preparing the public education calendar. Samastha also asked the government to implement its earlier assurance regarding madrasa timings and issue the necessary orders.
