THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sarada Muraleedharan stepped down from the post of Chief Secretary, thanking her colleagues for the sweet memories she had during her service. Dr A. Jayathilak took over from Sarada Muraleedharan as the 50th Chief Secretary at a function held at the Secretariat's Durbar Hall. The function was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Sarada Muraleedharan said that she is stepping down from the service with a sense of gratitude. "I am a lucky person. Except for one or two positions, all the rest were favorite posts. Kerala is a place where everyone works together. When I went to the World Economic Forum in Davos, I realized how the world looks at Kerala." Sarada fought against colour discrimination: Chief Minister
In a society where women are excluded from many fields, Sarada Muraleedharan is retiring from service, having proven that women are equal to and ahead of men, the Chief Minister said. “Sarada has been able to make her service life meaningful with her stance and excellent work. Sarada became the Chief Secretary during a difficult period. She coordinated the Wayanad rehabilitation and Vizhinjam projects in an exemplary manner. She maintained personal integrity and financial discipline. There is a section of officials who believe that working against social inequalities is not their responsibility, but she fought against colour discrimination. Sarada, who is among the best officials in the state, also shone as an activist,” the Chief Minister said.
Jayathilak visits Vizhinjam
Dr A Jayathilak, who took charge as the Chief Secretary, said that he will implement the decisions of the previous cabinet and the next cabinet. After taking charge, Jayathilak visited the Vizhinjam Port, which will be commissioned tomorrow.
