Several trains including Bengaluru-Thiruvananthapuram special running late in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Train services will be delayed in the state on Saturday due to severe rainfall and tress uprooting on tracks. Strong winds are also proving to be a hindrance to safe travel. Many trains in the state are currently running late.

Mysore - Thiruvananthapuram Express is running late by one and a half hours. Kacheguda - Murudeshwar Express is running late by 50 minutes. Bengaluru - Thiruvananthapuram Special train is one and a half hours late. Gorakhpur Thiruvananthapuram Raptisagar Express is four and a half hours late. Guruvayur Chennai Express is running late by an hour.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department warned of heavy rains in all districts of the state. A red alert was declared in nine districts today. The districts include Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta. An orange alert was declared in Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram districts.

According to IMD, the first phase of severe monsoon is slowly reaching its end days. There is a possibility of strong winds and rough seas along the Kerala coast. Fishing is prohibited.
