Sexual assault by giving false marriage promise; Museum police arrest youngster

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A youngster who sexually assaulted a woman by giving her false promises of marriage was arrested on Saturday. Brijil Brijin (26), a native of Ranni, Poovanmala, was arrested by Museum police. He befriended the victim while she was studying physiotherapy at a nursing college in Kannur. During this time, he carried out sexual relations with her by promising marriage.

The assault took place in Kochi while the two were in the city as part of a course. Soon after, the relationship soured, and the accused backed out of the marriage. He even tried to go abroad. With this, the victim filed a complaint with the Museum police.

The youngster was arrested by a team led by ACP Stuart Keeler, including CI Vimal, Vipin, Balasubramanian, Suraj, Rajesh, Shine, Sheela, Deepu, Udayan, Zulfi, Sajan, Arun, and Shini.
