MALAPPURAM: Officials went into alert mode after Karipur airport in Kerala received a bomb threat on Saturday. The anonymous message pointed to a bomb threat in an Air Arabia flight bound to fly to Sharjah from Karipur. The dog squad arrived and searched but found nothing.

The incident happened this morning. It was during passenger boarding that a note was found inside the flight that warned about a bomb attack. The passengers were immediately cleared from the flight while officials conducted a laborious search. Despite the big efforts, no shred of evidence was found. Soon after clearing doubts, the passengers were boarded again.

Meanwhile, in another case, a 13-year-old boy who sent a fake e-mail message to the Delhi International Airport warning of a bomb threat was taken into custody. The boy was arrested from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.

The message was received on June 4 at 10:50 pm that a bomb had been placed on the Delhi-Toronto Air Canada flight. Due to this, the flight was delayed for 12 hours. On investigation, it was found that a boy from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh sent the message. The boy told the police that he did it as a joke and aimed to see if the officers could find him.
