Shock in Thiruvananthapuram: Workers discover security guard’s body in construction site well

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A grim discovery has shaken the Sreekaryam Kariyath neighbourhood after the body of a 68-year-old man was found in a well on Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as Bhaskara Pillai, a native of Attingal who served as a security guard at a local apartment construction site for the last 18 months.

The alarm was raised early today by workers from a nearby construction site who spotted the body. Forensic experts estimate the body had been in the water for approximately three days—matching the timeline given by Pillai’s family, who had been unable to reach him via phone since late last week.
While Pillai typically visited his home once a week, his sudden silence sparked concern among relatives. Sreekaryam police have cordoned off the area and are investigating all possibilities, including whether foul play was involved in the elderly man’s death.
