Slight relief from scorching heat; Rain in Kerala for next five days, alert in nine districts today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a possibility of rain in the state for the next five days. The forecast is for light to moderate rain. A green alert has been issued in nine districts today. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Palakkad are on green alert today.

Green alert has been sounded in seven districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam tomorrow. Green alert in Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Thrissur on Monday. Green alert in Alappuzha, Kottayam and Thrissur on Tuesday. Green alert in Wayanad and Kannur districts on Wednesday.


In recent days, the heat in Kerala has become extremely intense. A slight relief has been given by the possibility of rain today. A yellow alert was declared in 11 districts as part of the temperature warning yesterday. The warning was in Kollam, Kottayam, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur. The temperature rose to 37 degrees Celsius in Kollam, Kottayam and Palakkad. Temperatures rose up to 36 degrees Celsius in Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur.
