CHERTHALA: At a meeting held at the Karapuram Residency in Cherthala, the SNDP Yogam Board of Directors expressed full support for the leadership's actions regarding legal challenges concerning the organization's elections and annual general meeting. Presided over by President M.N. Soman and inaugurated by General Secretary Vellappally Natesan, the board commended the leadership's efforts to maintain unity and stability, asserting that the legal battle must be vigorously pursued to protect the organization's rights and traditions.
The board also addressed the upcoming assembly elections, approving a resolution presented by CV Shaji that calls on all political fronts to ensure fair representation for backward communities. While acknowledging that these groups are heavily utilized by parties for election activities, the board expressed concern over their frequent exclusion from candidatures and power structures. They emphasized that ensuring fair political representation for backward communities—who are vital to Kerala’s social fabric—is a fundamental obligation of democracy, and they urged all political fronts to take the necessary steps to address this in the coming elections. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Devaswom Secretary Arayakandy Santhosh.
