CHERUTHURUTHY: A group of artists have sent a complaint to the Minister of Culture, seeking an inquiry into the DJ party organized on the concluding day of the 'Nila' dance and music festival held at Kerala Kalamandalam. It is alleged that the Vice-Chancellor of Kalamandalam, Kalamandalam Registrar and the students performed a disco dance.

The party is said to have been held by the officers and a group of students after the program ended. The incident took place in and around Kalamandalam's Koothambalam. This program has turned out to be very controversial as Kalamandalam is an institution where arts are taught in the traditional Gurukula system.
