KOCHI: The couple set ablaze by their neighbour in Vaduthala are battling death and still in critical condition. Christopher and his wife Mary, natives of Vaduthala Freedom Nagar, are undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of a private hospital. Christopher suffered more than 50 per cent burns.

On Friday, neighbour William stopped the scooter the couple were travelling on and attacked them. After setting them ablaze, William committed suicide. The inquest proceedings will begin this morning. Last night, around 8 pm, Christopher and Mary, who were returning from church, were stopped on the road by William due to a personal enmity. The neighbour threw petrol on the couple and set them on fire.

CCTV footage has also emerged of Christopher and Mary rushing to the hospital after suffering serious burns.
