Teacher locked up in Kasargod, cars of teachers deflated in Kannur, clash in school

KANNUR: A clash broke out at Nedungome GHSS at Sreekandapuram Municipality in Kannur in connection with the general strike. The protestors deflated the cars of the teachers who came for work. 15 teachers belonging to the KPSTA and HSTA unions were present.

The protestors who came from outside entered the school and created a ruckus. In the meanwhile, the tyres of seven vehicles, including a car, were deflated. The police reached the spot following the clash. The teachers are still in the school. Classes are not being held as there are no children.


Meantime, a teacher was locked up by the protestors at the Vellarikkundu Parappa Government Higher Secondary School in Kasaragod. Left leaders who came around 10 am locked the teacher Siji in the office. They had a verbal dispute with teacher Prabhavathyi, who is in charge of the head teacher. The police arrived and opened the door. The teacher said that she would file a complaint with the police in connection with the incident.
