Team behind Pottiye Kettiye likely to be arrested; letter will be sent to accused' company abroad

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The accused in the case registered by the police against the parody song ‘Pottiye...Kettiye…’ are likely to be arrested. The accused in the case registered by the Thiruvananthapuram cyber police are lyricist G P Kunjabdulla, singer Danish, CMS media who shot the song and producer Subair Panthalloor. They are likely to be arrested. A notice is likely to be issued by the police to the company where the lyricist is working abroad.

Meanwhile, the police have started taking steps to take the detailed statements from Prasad Kuzhikkala, the complainant in the case. The cyber police had contacted Prasad Kuzhikkala of Ranni the other day. They asked him if he could appear as soon as possible to give his statement. However, he informed them that he had trips arranged earlier and that would come in person on Saturday to give statement.

Prasad had the other day said that there is no politics behind his complaint. He said that he had filed a complaint with the DGP as a Sabarimala devotee. The complaint said that the song was made using the name of Ayyappa and circulated on social media in a way that insulted religious sentiments and incited hatred among religious believers.

The first information report of the police alleged that insulted the Ayyappa devotional song and the Sharanam Mantra and tried to create an issue in the community in a way that destroyed religious harmony. Prasad filed the complaint as the general secretary of the Ranni Thiruvabharanampatha Samrakshana Samiti. However, another organization with the same name has also come forward with the argument that the committee does not have such a complaint.
