MALAPPURAM: An Air India flight heading to Doha was forced to make an emergency return to Karipur International Airport in Malappuram. Flight IX 375 safely landed back at Karipur after authorities decided to divert the aircraft due to a technical malfunction. According to officials, the plane's air conditioning system experienced a failure, prompting the decision to return to Karipur.
In another incident yesterday, an Air India flight arriving in Delhi from Hong Kong caught fire. The fire broke out as the aircraft landed and passengers were disembarking. Air India confirmed that all passengers and crew members were safe. The blaze occurred in the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) of flight AI 315 shortly after landing. The APU automatically shut down after catching fire, and the flames were quickly brought under control. Officials added that the aircraft sustained only minor damage.
