These districts will receive rain with thunder in the next three hours; wind is also possible

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of moderate rain and wind with thunder in three districts of the state in the next three hours. Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Malappuram districts are likely to receive rain. The Department has also informed that there is a possibility of wind gusting up to 40 km per hour in isolated places.

Bad weather, no fishing allowed

The Central Meteorological Department has informed that fishing should not be done in Kerala-Karnataka coast today (June 4) and in Lakshadweep area from today till June 8. Strong winds with a speed of 40 to 45 kmph and on some occasions up to 55 kmph and bad weather conditions are likely over Kerala-Karnataka coast today and over Lakshadweep region from today till June 8.

Today over Kerala -Karnataka coast, Lakshadweep region, Maldives region, South-East Arabian Sea, South West Bay of Bengal along Sri Lankan coast, Andaman Sea, South East Bay of Bengal & adjoining Central East Bay of Bengal, strong wind with a speed of 40 to 45 kmph and occasional gusts with speeds of up to 55 km/h and severe weather are likely.

Tomorrow and the day after, bad weather conditions and strong winds with a speed of 40 to 45 kmph and on some occasions up to 55 kmph, are likely over Lakshadweep region, Maldives region, South West Bay of Bengal along Sri Lankan coast, Andaman Sea, South East Bay of Bengal & adjoining Central East Bay of Bengal.

Strong winds and bad weather conditions with gustiness of 45 to 55 kmph and occasional gusts up to 65 kmph are possible over the North Andaman Sea and adjoining Central East Bay of Bengal on 7th and 8th June. Strong winds with gustiness of 40 to 45 kmph and occasional gusts up to 55 kmph and bad weather are likely over Lakshadweep region, Maldives region, South East Bay of Bengal and South West Bay of Bengal along the Sri Lankan coast.

From today to June 7, strong winds and bad weather conditions are likely to occur over South Tamil Nadu coast and Gulf of Mannar, with a wind speed of 45 to 55 kmph and occasional gusts of up to 65 kmph. On June 7, strong winds with gusts of 40 to 45 kmph and occasional gusts with speed up to 55 kmph and rough weather are likely in the Kanyakumari region on June 7.

The advisory said that on June 8, wind speed of 45 to 55 kmph and occasional up to 65 kmph and bad weather conditions are likely over South Tamil Nadu coast, Gulf of Mannar and Kanyakumari region. In this case fishing should not be done on the above-mentioned date and area.
