PALAKKAD: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that some people are attempting to bring back communalism. He stated that such forces may appear in different forms, but once they gain a foothold, their true nature will be revealed. The Chief Minister was speaking while inaugurating the Kudumbashree Saras Mela at Chalissery in the Thirithala constituency. He said Kerala is taking a firm stand against communalism and warned that those who support such forces are destroying the future of the state.

"We are building modern scientific systems, but some people are trying to block this progress and push society back to the past. If secularism is destroyed, society will be pushed back into darkness. In some places, people are not even free to choose how they dress and are unable to wear clothes of their choice. Such restrictions are clear signs of communalism. Attempts are being made to promote communalism in many ways. Today, the situation in our country is so bad that people are not even free to eat the food they like," the CM said.
