Thiruvananthapuram Alan murder: KAAPA case accused in custody, more arrests soon

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The arrest of the accused, involved in the murder of a youngster near Thycaud, will be recorded today. One of those in custody is an accused in the KAAPA case. The accused were identified by examining the CCTV footage of the place.

Alan (19) of house D 47 in Aristo Junction Thoppil, near Rajaji Nagar, was murdered yesterday after the accused stabbed a knife into his chest. The murder took place in the middle of the road near Thycaud Sasthamkovil at around 6 pm on Monday.

Students of the Thycaud Model School had clashed with each other while playing football on the school grounds in the past few days. The conflict soon turned into a regional dispute between children from Rajaji Nagar and Jagathy Colony. The youths of both groups decided to settle the matter after agreeing to meet near Thycaud temple. Accordingly, Alan arrived with the group from Rajaji Nagar.

A fierce argument broke out while they were talking. Alan was stabbed in the chest during the push and shove. According to the witness, Alan was hit hard on the head with a helmet and stabbed in the chest with a knife. The accused immediately fled the spot.

Two of Alan’s friends took him to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. The body has been shifted to the Medical College Mortuary. The body will be handed over to the relatives after the postmortem today. Mother: Manjula, sister: Late Andrea.
