NEW DELHI: While most exit polls have predicted a majority for the UDF in the Kerala Assembly elections, a surprising survey by Today’s Chanakya presents a different picture. According to the Today's Chanakya exit poll, there is a close contest between the UDF and the LDF. The survey also suggests the possibility of a hung assembly in Kerala, with the NDA emerging as a key player.
According to the figures, the UDF has a slight edge, but the chances of the LDF cannot be ruled out. The UDF is expected to win between 60 and 78 seats, while the LDF may secure between 55 and 73 seats. The NDA is predicted to win 3 to 11 seats. If this happens, Kerala could see a hung assembly, the survey says.
The survey also released community-wise voting patterns. Among Nair voters, 39% are expected to support the BJP, while 32% may vote for the UDF and 28% for the LDF. Among Muslim voters, the UDF has a strong lead with 62%, followed by 33% for the LDF and 4% for the BJP.
Among Ezhava voters, the LDF has an advantage with 47%, while the BJP is expected to get 32% and the UDF 20%. Among Christian voters, 53% are likely to support the UDF, while 34% may vote for the LDF and 11% for the BJP.
Among Scheduled Caste (SC) voters, the LDF is expected to get 49%, the UDF 31%, and the BJP 18%. In terms of overall vote share, the UDF is projected to get 40%, the LDF 38%, and the NDA 20%.
