Timely intervention by police thwarts youth’s suicide attempt

KOZHIKODE: A timely intervention by the police prevented a youth from committing suicide. The police reached the spot within seconds and brought the youth back to life. The Nadakkavu police in Kozhikode deserves appreciation for their work. The youth’s friend reached the police station Monday morning to file a missing complaint of his friend of Kodungallur in Thrissur and working in Kozhikode.

Soon after getting the complaint, the police sought the help of the cyber police. The police got the mobile location of him from a lodge in Kuthiravattom. The police reached the lodge and showed the youth’s photo to the person in the reception. He identified him and when they pushed it open, the youth was getting ready to commit suicide by hanging himself.


He was rescued and brought to the station at 10.45. He was later sent back with his friends and family. Nadakkavu police station sub inspector Leela, SCPOs Anish Babu, Abdul Samad and Shajal Ignatius were in the investigation team.
