THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Train services disrupted due to heavy rain. The departure times of some trains have been rescheduled. Many trains including Vande Bharat are running more than an hour late. The Thiruvananthapuram Central - Mangalore Central Vande Bharat Express (20632), which was scheduled to depart from Thiruvananthapuram at 04.05 am on Tuesday, will depart at 05.10 am.

The Chennai Central - Alappuzha Express (22639), which was scheduled to depart from Chennai Central at 08.55 pm on Tuesday, will depart one hour and 20 minutes late at 10.15 pm, the Southern Railway Thiruvananthapuram Division said. The Kannur - Shoranur Passenger (06032) is running one and a half hours late. Kannur - Coimbatore Passenger is running three hours late. Parasuram Express (16649) is running 2.50 hours late.
Train traffic between Kozhikode, Kallai, and Ferok railway stations was disrupted again today after a tree fell on the track between these stations. Trees fell in Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad divisions for three consecutive days. Trees also fell in Kannur South. Trees falling several meters from the track and above the railway line are causing concern. Coconut trees fell on the tracks between Edava and Kapil. Traffic was disrupted for four hours after a tree fell on the railway track near Ambattukavu Metro Station in Ernakulam. The incident took place around 8 pm last night. The railways announced that the traffic disruption caused by the tree falling on the track in Ernakulam has been completely resolved.
