KOCHI: The customs arrested a person having possession of hybrid ganja at Nedumbassery airport. Usman, a native of Malappuram who came to Kochi from Bangkok, was arrested. During customs inspection, hybrid cannabis worth three and a half crore rupees was found in his bag. The passenger arrived in Kochi on a Thai Airways flight.

The bags containing the hybrid cannabis were kept at the bottom of the bag, which contained several food packages. About 13 kg of hybrid cannabis was kept in two packages in the bag. The customs inspection was based on a tip-off received. Earlier too, there were cases of trafficking hybrid ganja from Bangkok with hybrid ganja to Kochi airport. This made the customs focus more on passengers coming from Thailand.

The accused will be soon produced in court.
