Two killed in auto-lorry collision in Kollam

KOLLAM: Two people were killed after an auto and a lorry collided at Ayoor in Kollam. The two dead are auto driver Sulfikkar and Rethi, both natives of Ayoor. Rethi’s husband, who sustained serious injuries are undergoing treatment. The accident happened Friday early morning.

Rethi and her husband Suresh were going to the temple in Sulfikkar’s auto. The accident happened after the lorry coming from the opposite direction lost control and rammed into their auto.

The CCTV visuals of the accident have emerged. Initial reports said the lorry driver may have dozed off at the wheel, leading to the accident. Sulfikkar died on the spot itself. Rethi died while undergoing treatment.
