THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader V D Satheesan has claimed that the UDF will secure a complete victory in four districts in the upcoming Assembly elections. He made this statement during a television interview.

Satheesan said the UDF is expected to win all seats in Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, and Malappuram. He expressed confidence that the UDF would win all five seats in both Pathanamthitta and Idukki. He also spoke about the party’s prospects in Kottayam, stating that only one or two seats there would see tough competition. According to Satheesan, current trends indicate that the UDF will win all 16 seats in Malappuram and all 14 seats in Ernakulam.

However, in the 2021 Assembly elections, the LDF had a strong performance in Idukki, winning four out of five seats (Devikulam, Udumbanchola, Idukki, and Peerumade), while P J Joseph of the UDF won in Thodupuzha.

In Pathanamthitta, the UDF did not win even a single seat in the last election. The LDF swept all constituencies, including Thiruvalla, Ranni, Aranmula, Konni, and Adoor.

Meanwhile, the UDF had an advantage in Ernakulam, winning 9 out of the total 14 seats, while the LDF won 5. In Malappuram, the UDF secured victory in 12 out of 16 constituencies. Seats such as Malappuram, Vengara, Manjeri, Kondotty, Eranad, Perinthalmanna, Mankada, Tirurangadi, Vallikkunnu, Tirur, Kottakkal, and Wandoor were won by the UDF, while Tanur, Thavanur, Ponnani, and Nilambur went to the LDF.
