THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The attempt to remove the guide wire stuck in the woman's chest through keyhole surgery has failed. Doctors say that the keyhole surgery has failed twice. Doctors say that more health problems will arise if the guide wire is removed through the keyhole and have informed that a major surgery will be required. Both ends of the guide wire are stuck to the artery. The hospital authorities have informed the woman's relatives about this.

Sumayya, a native of Kattakada Killi, is currently at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. It is reported that the woman will be discharged from the hospital tomorrow. Sumayya was admitted to the hospital yesterday. The guide wire was left in the woman's chest two years ago, during a thyroid surgery at the Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital. An X-ray was taken after she developed breathing difficulties, and it was discovered that the tube was in her chest.

The doctor who performed the surgery shied away from blame when the hospital staff was informed about this. The doctors had earlier said that the tube was stuck in the chest, it was difficult to remove it, and it would be life-threatening to try to remove it. The statements of Dr. Rajeev Kumar and the junior doctor at the General Hospital who performed the surgery on Sumayya were earlier recorded. The Cantonment Police is investigating the complaint filed with the police in the incident.

The medical board had also assessed that the woman would not have any other health problems due to the guide wire. However, Sumayya informed the medical board that she was facing serious health problems, including shortness of breath. Although the health minister herself admitted that the doctor had made a serious mistake, no action has been taken yet.
