V T Balram congratulates Rahul Mamkootathil, new MLA of Palakkad

PALAKKAD: When the results of the fourth phase of the by-elections were out, Rahul Mamkootathil, the UDF candidate from Palakkad was in the front. Soon former MLA V T Balram came forward to congratulate Rahul Mamkootathil. Balram in his Facebook post said Rahul is sure to win in Palakkad and congratulates the new MLA of Palakkad and the successor of Shafi Parambil.

When the counting of votes started in Palakkad and the first results came out, BJP candidate C Krishna Kumar was leading. Rahul was also leading in one stage. Even if trails in Palakkad municipal council, the Congress believed that it can overcome the lead gained by Krishna Kumar in the urban area on the back of the votes they get in Pirayiri panchayat, which is its powerhouse.
