Verdict in actor assault case involving actor Dileep to be delivered on December 8

KOCHI: The verdict in the actor assault case involving actor Dileep will be delivered on December 8. The actress was attacked in a moving car on February 17 in 2017. There is a total of nine accused in the case. Pulsar Suni is the first accused in the case and Dileep, the eighth accused.

Initially, there were 12 accused. One of them was made an approver and two others were exempted. The final arguments in the case were completed months ago. The defense's arguments were completed on April 9.

Although Dileep approached the high court demanding a CBI investigation into the case, there was no favorable verdict. Dileep's argument was that a CBI was needed for a transparent and impartial investigation. The lawyer had argued that there was a conspiracy in the case. The court did not accept these arguments.

Dileep was arrested on July 2017. The actor was remanded for some time and later granted bail. The chargesheet was filed in November 2017. On March 8, 2018, the trial proceedings began. Supreme Court directed that the trial be completed within six months on November 29, 2019. Pulsar Suni was granted bail on September 17, 2024. Final arguments in the case began on December 11, 2024. The defense's arguments were completed on April 9, 2025.
