THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader K. Muraleedharan has mocked CPM state secretary M.V. Govindan, calling him someone who often cracks jokes. He said listening to Govindan’s dialogues is a good way to relieve tension during political stress.
“When there’s tension in politics, listening to one or two of Govindan Mash’s dialogues is actually comforting. You can laugh freely. He even said that it’s not the UDF but the LDF that will lose 100 seats,” Muraleedharan said. He also pointed out that K. Surendran’s remark about contesting only from Vattiyoorkavu and V. Sivankutty’s statement about not contesting from Nemom suggest a secret understanding behind the scenes.
Muraleedharan added that the Congress will not close its doors to anyone wishing to join the UDF, nor will it blindly follow anyone. “In terms of seat-sharing, the League and we often make concessions. For houses in Wayanad, we will lay the foundation after coordinating with the schedules of Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. All work will be completed before the elections. Government projects, however, will not be completed anytime soon,” he said.
On the upcoming Assembly elections, Muraleedharan said the party will decide whether he contests and from which seat. “There won’t be major disputes in candidate selection. The tentative list will be ready by the 15th of this month,” he added.
