THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The oath-taking ceremony of those elected to the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation was held today. For the first time in history, the BJP has bagged the maximum number of seats in the capital corporation. The party's state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the mayoral candidate in the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation will be announced on December 26. Let it be a suspense until then, he added. Rajeev Chandrasekhar was speaking after the oath-taking ceremony.
"BJP coming to power in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation is a historic moment. The party is planning big projects for the development of the city. The BJP will release a development blueprint for Thiruvananthapuram within 45 days of coming to power. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Thiruvananthapuram to announce these development projects," he reiterated.
BJP's Kerala in-charge Prakash Javadekar also attended the swearing-in ceremony. The oath-taking ceremony was held today despite Sunday being a holiday because the term of the existing governing council ended yesterday.
