THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala University Vice Chancellor Mohanan Kunnummal reiterated his stance of no compromise in the recent imbroglio concerning the Registrar of the university. The Vice Chancellor demanded that the suspended Registrar leave the office at the earliest so that a syndicate can be convened. The VC also demanded that the entire responsibility be handed over to interim registrar Mini Kappan.

Minister R Bindu told the media on Friday that the Vice Chancellor expressed willingness to resolve the issue between the Governor and the government. The minister had said that the possibility of resolving the issue became apparent after VC Mohanan Kunnummal assured that a syndicate meeting would be called following the government's intervention.

The Higher Education Department intervened in the matter as per the instructions of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Mohanan Kunnummal had called on Minister Bindu at her official residence on Friday. When the Governor returns to Kerala, the ministers will visit the Raj Bhavan to hold discussions to resolve the crisis.
