CHERTHALA: Accused Sebastian is not cooperating with the interrogation. The investigation team is trying to gather more evidence in the disappearance of three women in Cherthala. Officials highly doubt the chances of murder.

Police received a hint about Jayanamma’s murder from an inadvertent disclosure from Sebastian, but no details are known about the disappearance of Bindu Padmanabhan and Hairumma. After searching Sebastian's house in Pallipuram twice, the team spotted a covered well that was hitherto left unnoticed.

The Kottayam Crime Branch team had conducted an inspection based on a tip from Sebastian that the unused well had been covered up three years ago. However, the investigation team has indicated that it will open and inspect the next day. A search will also be conducted at the abandoned house, owned by Sebastian’s brother.

The investigation in the Aisha case is progressing with a focus on three women who are friends. The statements of Rosamma, Laila and Sujatha, who were close to Aisha, will be crucial. Two of them were questioned initially. The third person has been instructed to appear since she is out of the district. It is reported that detailed questioning will be conducted if necessary after the initial statement. The delay in receiving the DNA test results has hampered the progress of the investigation in the case.
