PATHANAMTHITTA: CPM leaders have once again threatened the forest guards in Kochukoikkal in Seethathode. The leaders made the threat during a demonstration held towards the Kochukoikkal forest station in protest against the police for registering a case against 12 CPM members for attacking the forest guards who came to inspect the timber which was cut down on the road near Kulanjimukku.

DYFI state committee member Joby T. Eesho was the first to make the threat. "Those who come to houses wearing boots should also learn to stand on one leg. You might still have to file a murder case," he said during his speech at the demonstration.

"We know to hack not only legs but also hands. We know to carry out not only a democratic revolution but also an armed revolution," CPM Perunad area committee member Jayson James said. Jayson was accused in the case of beating up a student in the Kadammanitta college.

The CPM has been protesting in the region for a long time, alleging that the forest department was obstructing the cutting of trees planted on the leased land (pattaya land).
