Woman dies during childbirth at home in Kannur, probe underway

KANNUR: A migrant worker died during childbirth in Chelerimukku, Kannadiparamba. Jeswina, an Assam native, died in the horrible incident that took place on Friday morning. The childbirth took place in a rented room surrounded by midwives and women relatives of Jeswina’s husband.

After giving birth, the victim collapsed from fatigue and was rushed to the hospital. However, her life could not be saved. The newborn was shifted to Pariyaram Medical College. The Mayyil police registered a case of unnatural death. An investigation is underway in the case.
