Woman dies of infection after delivery; complaint against SAT Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint has been filed against the SAT Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram in connection with the death of a woman due to infection soon after her delivery. The woman, who came to the hospital for delivery, died following bacterial infection. Her relatives alleged that she was infected from the hospital.

The woman has been identified as Sivapriya of Karikkakam. She delivered on October 22 and was discharged from the hospital on October 25. She was brought to the hospital on October 26 following fever. As her condition worsened, she was shifted to the medical college hospital and was on ventilator. She died Sunday afternoon. However, the hospital authorities stepped forward denying the allegations. They claimed that the woman did not have any issues at the time of her discharge.
