Woman ends life by jumping into well a day after son’s death in accident

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A woman ended her life a day after her son died in an accident. Sheeja Beegum, mother of Sajin Muhammed (28) of Arafa in Thiruvananthapuram Nedumangad Velloorkonam ended her life by jumping into the well. Sajin died in an accident that happened in Wayanad last afternoon.

Sajin, a post graduate student, died after a van and a scooter collided in Pookode campus. Sheeja was not informed about her son’s death. After dropping her at their relative’s house in Kazhakoottam, her family had gone to Wayand to bring the body to the capital city.

Sheeja came to know about her son’s death at night via social media. She immediately jumped into the well of her relative’s house. The body is kept in the mortuary of the medical college hospital.

Her husband Sulaiman is a retired official of the forest department. Sheeja was a teacher. The couple has a daughter also. Sajin was a last year student of Masters of Veterinary Science (MVSC).
