Congress Working Committee member K Sudhakaran MP said that the incident in which a woman died after a building collapsed at the Kottayam Medical College is a disgrace for Kerala. He stated that the public health sector in Kerala, which once stood as a model for the world, is now trembling before our eyes.
Sudhakaran said that the health department cannot evade responsibility for this tragic incident that occurred in the government medical college hospital. He alleged that instead of focusing on rescue operations, the ministers who arrived at the scene were more interested in boasting about the government's achievements in front of the cameras.
"Without even conducting a proper inspection at the site, these ministers loudly declared to Kerala that no one was trapped inside the collapsed building. One wonders what world these ministers are living in. They are a disgrace to Kerala," said Sudhakaran.
He added that if rescue operations had been carried out immediately after the accident, one life could have been saved. The Pinarayi Vijayan government, which is governing from the inflated balloon created by PR agencies, should immediately remove the Health Minister in order to save Kerala's health department.
