THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The world's largest container ship MSC IRINA entered the Vizhinjam port. The giant ship's berthing was at 8 am. MSC IRINA received a water salute. After waiting in the Vizhinjam outer sea for six long days, the ship was allowed to berth today. The ship arrived in the Vizhinjam outer sea at 7 pm on June 3. The ship will be here for two days in connection with the movement of goods.
After unloading about 4,000 containers in Vizhinjam, the ship will return with a few containers. MSC IRINA had to wait in the open sea for six days due to the removal of containers from the feeder ship at the port. Apart from Irina, 49 ships have been scheduled for this month.
Villy Antony of Puranattukara in Thrissur, is the captain of MSC IRINA. This is the first time a Malayali has had the opportunity to sail this ship in India. Abhinand of Kannur is also in the ship.
