THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The court rejected the plea filed by former KSRTC driver Yadhu against Mayor Arya Rajendran in a road dispute case. The Thiruvananthapuram CJM Court rejected the plea filed seeking a court-supervised investigation in the road dispute between Arya Rajendran and Yadhu. Thiruvananthapuram First Class Magistrate Vinod Babu considered the plea.

Yadhu in his plea demanded that the supervision of the court is necessary if the case has to proceed in the right direction. The plea also demanded that the investigation progress report should be submitted in the court every three months. The court accepted the argument of the government lawyer that the ongoing investigation into the incident was effective and dismissed the plea.

Dismissing the plea, the court directed that an honest investigation should be conducted in the case. The investigation team should collect witness statements and scientific evidence. Do not succumb to external interference or influence and complete the investigation in a timely manner. The court also directed Arya Rajendran and her husband Sachin Dev MLA not to influence the witnesses. When the court asked if the directions were acceptable, Yadhu's counsel said ‘yes’. Considering this, the court rejected Yadhu's plea.

The incident related to the case happened on the night of last April 27. A verbal fight broke out between the mayor and the KSRTC driver in the middle of the road for not giving way to the vehicle. The incident took place at Palayam in Thiruvananthapuram. After Mayor Arya Rajendran filed a complaint against KSRTC driver's misbehaviour, the police registered a case against L H Yadhu, the driver of Thampanoor depot.
