KOCHI: Actor-producer Soubin Shahir has suffered yet another setback in the financial fraud case, with the Kerala High Court rejecting his plea seeking relaxation of bail conditions. Soubin is an accused in the financial fraud case related to the movie 'Manjummel Boys.'
Soubin had earlier approached the Ernakulam Magistrate Court seeking permission to travel abroad to attend an award ceremony in Dubai. The court, however, dismissed his petition.
Soubin, along with co-accused Shaun Antony and Babu Shahir, has already been questioned during the investigation. Earlier, the High Court had rejected their petition to dismiss the case.
The case was registered based on a complaint lodged by Maradu native Siraj Valiyathura, who alleged that he was not given his share of profits from the movie. However, the producers argued that Siraj had failed to pay the full amount he was supposed to invest in the film on time. Because of this delay, the shooting schedules were disrupted and the production got extended.
