PATHANAMTHITTA: Malayalapuzha Mohanan, CPM leader and relative of Naveen Babu raised serious allegations against Kannur district collector. He alleged that Kannur collector Arun K Vijayan invited P P Divya to the sendoff function. Mohanan said the function of the time was changed according to her convenience. While talking to a media, he said filing a complaint against the collector will be decided after holding talks with the party.
‘The district collector decided to organize the sendoff function. Naveen Babu was against organizing the function. Naveen's stand was that he is not retiring from service, so there is no need for a sendoff. The collector was not willing to listen to it and organized the meet in the morning. The collector later intervened and changed the meeting to afternoon. Mohanan said the time was changed even though there was no inconvenience for the collector and Naveen to attend in the morning.
‘It should be known on whose direction the collector changed the time of the function. Moreover, it was the collector who called Divya as an uninvited guest in the meeting convened in the evening. The collector changed the function to afternoon as Divya could not attend in the morning. There is someone behind this. The collector also has a definite role in it. An investigation should also be conducted on it. No other family should face this situation again. CPM's district secretary K P Udayabhanu himself had revealed all these things to the media. It is not enough to remove the collector, legal action should also be taken,’ said Mohanan.
