‘Don’t come with report of pages, action on war footing required; HC to govt on Brahmapuram issue

brahmapuram-

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court said that a suo moto case was registered on Brahmapuram issue as protectors of citizens’ rights. A pollution-free environment is the right of humans and this is being lost in many places including Kochi and that is why summoned those responsible.

The government informed the court that a meeting will be chaired by the chief minister. The court said that a permanent solution is needed. There should be a proper system for waste management and it should be separated in the source itself. Action should be taken against those throwing garbage in public places. The court also told the government not to come with a report of pages. Instead, the court directed that it is enough to specify exactly how to implement and action on war footing are needed.

Meantime, Ernakulam District Collector Dr Renuraj directly appeared in the court today. Though the high court had directed her to appear yesterday afternoon, she failed to turn up. The court expressed displeasure over this and directed the collector to appear today and she appeared at 1.45 pm.
