‘Living through us’…Funeral cortege carrying body of VS enters Alappuzha

ALAPPUZHA: The funeral cortege of former chief minister V S Achuthanandan entered Alappuzha after receiving the final tributes of thousands. The cortege reached Kayamkulam at around 7.30 am. Thousands of people were on both sides of the road to see their beloved leader despite heavy rain.

After the public homage at the Durbar Hall in the Secretariat, the funeral cortege carrying the body of VS began at around 2.45 pm on Tuesday. The body was expected to reach his home in Punnapra at 8 this morning. However, in the present condition, it is expected to be delayed by hours.
