Andhra man collapses, dies near Sathram-Pullumedu forest path in Sabarimala

PEERUMEEDU: A Sabarimala pilgrim collapsed and died on the Seethakulam side of the Sathram-Pullumedu forest path on Thursday.

Mallikarjuna Reddy (42), a native of Andhra Pradesh, collapsed and died.

Mallikarjuna Reddy was heading to Sannidhanam from Sathram along with a group of 25 people from Andhra around 10:30 am on Thursday.

At a region near Sathram and Seethakulam, Reddy felt unwell. Later, employees of the health, forest and police departments of the Sathram reached the spot. At this time, the doctor and his team from Pullumedu reached this area. Mallikarjuna Reddy was examined but could not be saved.

Subsequently, the Vandiperiyar police reached the spot and took the above measures, and the body was taken to Idukki Medical College Hospital for postmortem via Pullumedu Vandiperiyar.
