THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Reports say Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Mayor Arya Rajendran is planning to shift her working activities from the capital city to Kozhikode. It is reported that Arya has approached the CPM leadership for permission. If the party gives permission, her future political activities will be in Kozhikode.

Arya is CPM district committee member and a member of the DYFI state secretariat. As the DYFI state leader, Arya is already active in organizational programs in other districts including Kozhikode. Arya got married in September 2022 while serving as the mayor. She has a two-year-old daughter. Her husband is Sachin Dev, an MLA from the Balussery constituency in Kozhikode.

With the announcement of the elections, her duty as mayor has ended. She is not contesting in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation this time. Since the decision has been made to consider Arya for the assembly, the party has directed her to become active in organizational activities.
