ALAPPUZHA: CPM state secretary MV Govindan has said that necessary investigations will be conducted and a stand will be taken on the complaint that an area committee member had extorted Rs 22 lakh by promising to make the accused a PSC member. He told the media that CPM does not have the practice of appointing PSC members by taking money and appointments are made to such posts only on the basis of merit.
In addition to the name of Minister Mohammed Riyas, the local leader has also used the names of MLAs KM Sachindev and Thottathil Ravindran. However, the party leadership is of the position that there is no need for an investigation into the allegations against Riyas. "We are aware of how PSC members are appointed. Let the police investigate the matter. We are not of the position that they should not investigate," MV Govindan added.
A couple who are homeo doctors complained that CPM Kozhikode Town Area Committee member Pramod Kotuli took a bribe of Rs 22 lakh for PSC membership. The husband paid for the Lady doctor. In the first phase, Rs 20 lakh was transferred for membership and Rs 2 lakh for other expenses. The promise was to give PSC membership on payment of Rs.60 lakh. Membership was not given after taking the payment. A high post in the AYUSH Mission was offered but that also did not happen, and this is why a complaint was filed against him to the party leadership. A voice message detailing the financial transaction has also been given to the party along with the complaint.
