THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The tussle between Education Minister V Sivankutty and Opposition Leader V D Satheesan has been active for the past few days. The two had a heated exchange of words within the assembly over the gold theft. Satheesan had harshly criticised Sivankutty's remarks against Sonia Gandhi. Now, Sivankutty has challenged Satheesan to contest as a UDF candidate in Nemom as part of the fight against the Sangh Parivar.
Sivankutty's question is whether Satheesan dares to contest as a UDF candidate in Nemom. Sivankutty challenged the opposition leader to contest in Nemom if he has the strength to bring Sangh Parivar politics to its knees. The minister challenged the opposition leader through a Facebook post.

The efforts of Opposition Leader VD Satheesan to portray himself as a great 'warrior' fighting against the Sangh Parivar are intriguing. The Kerala public is well aware of the Congress's lack of stance and its soft approach towards the BJP. Just sitting on the podium and making speeches is not proof of an anti-Sangh Parivar stand.
Nemom constituency has proven what a real fight is like. The only account that BJP opened on the soil of Kerala was closed by the Left's uncompromising political struggle. I invite the Opposition Leader to this fight if he has the strength to bring Sangh Parivar politics to its knees.
If V.D. Satheesan is truly anti-Sangh Parivar, he should be ready to contest as a UDF candidate in the upcoming elections from Nemom constituency, which was once won by the BJP. I hope he will accept this invitation to strengthen the fight against communalism if he has the courage to take up the challenge.
What a leader needs is the courage to prove his stance through actions rather than words that mislead the people. Whether VD Satheesan contests or not, the Left will not allow the closed BJP account to be opened in Nemom. The winner will be the Left Democratic Front candidate.
