DCC reorganisation: Final list by 10th; two-day discussion to be held in Delhi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The discussions being held by the KPCC leadership regarding the reorganization of DCC presidents are in the final stage. The move is to prepare the final list before the 10th and submit it to the high command. It is indicated that a rough understanding has now been reached to change the DCC presidents except in Kannur, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Thrissur and Ernakulam districts. A draft list of those to be considered in other districts has been prepared.

Discussions with party MPs regarding the reorganisation will be held in Delhi tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. KPCC President Sunny Joseph will go to Delhi today for this. Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan will reach Delhi tonight or tomorrow. KPCC Working Presidents P.C. Vishnunath and A.P. Anilkumar will also participate in the discussion.

UDF convener Adoor Prakash, former KPCC president K. Sudhakaran and KPCC working president Shafi Parambil are also in Delhi as the Parliament session is underway. After the discussion with the MPs, discussions will be held with AICC general secretary in charge of Kerala -Deepa Dasmunsi and AICC general secretary in charge of organisation -K.C. Venugopal. Their opinions will also be respected while preparing the final list. V.D. Satheesan, Sunny Joseph and all the DCC chairpersons have already held discussions. They also communicated with former KPCC chairmen V.M. Sudheeran, K. Muraleedharan, K. Sudhakaran and working committee member Ramesh Chennithala.

Number of General Secretaries may be increased

The KPCC restructuring will take place after the DCC reorganisation. There are plans to increase the number of General Secretaries from 23 to 35. 70 secretaries will be appointed in the ratio of two secretaries to one General Secretary. The posts of secretaries are currently vacant. It has not been agreed whether the KPCC reorganisation should be done before the local body elections.
