KOCHI: Shobhana, the mother of the actress assault case accused Pulsar Suni, has filed a plea seeking a review of the decision to freeze her bank account. Her move comes on the day the court is expected to deliver its verdict in the actress assault case. The court is likely to consider the petition today.
The account contains one lakh rupees. Investigators found that this money was part of the payment allegedly given by actor Dileep as a quotation amount. Perumbavoor native Pulsar Suni, whose real name is NS Sunil, is the first accused in the actress assault case.
The actress was attacked on February 17, 2017, inside a moving car between Angamaly and Kalamassery. This case is notable as the first in the country where a sexual assault was carried out on a quotation basis. Actor Dileep and nine others are accused in the case.
Pulsar Suni had earlier worked as a driver on film sets. Investigating officials had found that Dileep had promised him Rs 1.5 crore to attack the actress and record visuals. In January 2017, there was an attempt to execute the plan on the set of the film 'Honey Bee 2' in Goa, but it failed as the actress returned early. In the second week of February, after learning that the actress would be in Kochi for a promotional song shoot, the accused revived their conspiracy.
After the assault, Suni was arrested. However, he did not receive the promised money and allegedly tried several times to threaten Dileep. He sent letters through fellow inmates and even attempted to contact Dileep’s close aides.
