Denny Varghese vs Denson Varghese: UDF with sibling card to capture sitting seat of LDF

KOLLAM: The UDF has fielded the elder brother of a candidate to capture the sitting seat of the LDF. Siblings are against contesting each other in the Kallumkadavu ward of the Pathanapuram panchayat. Denson Varghese (45) and his elder brother Denny Varghese (53) are the LDF-UDF candidates. Denson was the winner in Kallumkadavu last time. The CPM has fielded Denson this time as well.

Denny Varghese was fielded by the UDF following this. Both were active faces of the SFI in the past. Later, Denny Varghese joined the Kerala Congress. Denny, a lawyer in the Pathanamthitta District Court, is the president of the Kerala Congress Pathanapuram constituency. His wife, Brigitte Denny, was the people's representative of Kallumkadavu ward from 2010-15. She contested for the district panchayat last time but lost.

Denson Varghese is a CPM local committee member and an employee of Pathanapuram Service Cooperative Bank. Kallumkadavu ward has a history of both parties winning. Denson Varghese, his mother Kunjamma Varghese, his wife Rinsi, and their children Hadasha, Helen, and Heba live in the family home in Kallumkadavu. Denny Varghese lives a kilometre away from the family home. Children: Devin and Diona.
