Haris Beeran to be named Muslim League's Rajya Sabha candidate? Youth League expresses protest

NEW DELHI: Reports are claiming that Supreme Court lawyer Adv Haris Beeran is being considered as the Rajya Sabha candidate of the Muslim League. According to reports, it was Muslim League state president Syed Sadiqali Shihab Thangal who decided to make Haris Beeran the party's candidate. Meanwhile, senior leaders such as PK Kunhalikutty, PMA Salam and others have expressed their disagreement with the decision. Youth League state leadership also expressed their protest in this matter to the Muslim League leadership.

The League leadership had initially hinted that the Youth League leaders would be considered as Rajya Sabha candidates. However, sources said that Sadiqali Thangal later changed this decision. Haris Beeran is the President of Delhi KMCC. Muslim League will officially announce its candidate after Sadiqali Thangal returns after his Gulf visit.
