‘Athu poyi njanum ponu’; Man’s FB post after Athulya’s death

KOLLAM: Satheesh Shankar, husband of Athulya, who committed suicide in Sharjah, came forward with a Facebook post. ‘Athu poyi njanum ponu’, Satheesh wrote on Facebook after her death. He had shared a photo of the two on Facebook a few days ago. He had also shared a picture with his wife on her birthday.

He posted many pictures with Athulya on his Facebook page. He tries to be a decent husband in front of others. Athulya’s video and voice message that emerged states that she was brutally harassed by her husband.

A few days before her death, she had sent some pictures and videos to her close relatives. The video shows several marks of harassment on her body. She can also be heard screaming loudly in the video. He behaved like a psycho. He was seen saying some unrelated things in the video that surfaced.

Satheesh married Athulya when she was 18. Athulya's father said that she was given gold of 48 sovereigns and a bike for him as dowry. He was not satisfied with it and started harassing her then. He started torturing her soon after marriage. She had filed for divorce and when the two were on the verge of it, he apologized with her and the two united, said her father
